Shangri-La can lay claim to something no other alpaca in the world can and that is being the only full brother to Accoyo El Nino. El Nino has produced numerous champions, was Futurity Herdsire of the Year in 2005 and won 1st Place in Get of Sire at 2004 Nationals. El Nino has taken over as supreme herdsire at Pacific Crest Accoyo America following in the footsteps of his late legendary sire, Caligula. Shangri-La is already proving to be a prepotent herdsire producing multiple blue ribbon winning offspring. He is letting color pass through producing offspring darker than the dam and has even produced black! Shangri-La is a stunning male with extraordinarily dense fleece that exhibits crimp and character right down to his belly. Shangri-La's sire, Caligula needs no introduction and has literally too many awards to list. His dam, Sunipani also has numerous awards including the very prestigous Judge's Choice Award for fleece at AOBA Nationals. Shangri-La's brother, El Nino had a breed fee of $10000 before outside breedings were closed. Greg Mecklem donated an El Nino breeding at 2006 Nationals that fetched an unheard of $15000.
